Door County Sunset Kayak Tour

The Bay of Green Bay offers plenty of vistas to catch a glorious Door County sunset. Ephraim offers one of the best – with Eagle’s Harbor Bluff and Horseshoe Island on the horizon, the view is breath-taking. Our Sunset Kayak Tour launches in Ephraim, 90 minutes prior to sunset.

WHAT TO EXPECT ON THE SUNSET KAYAK TOUR

Enjoy a nice, relaxing paddle with a stunning backdrop. Because these tours occur after the temperature is starting to drop, we only go out on the calmest days. The length of the Sunset Kayak Tour is entirely customizable, if you would like hang out and bask in the scenery or continuously paddle it is entirely up to you. Our experienced guides will be there to assist if needed.

WHAT TO BRING

For the Sunset Kayak Tour all you need to bring are water, a warmer layer or two, and something to capture the experience. We will provide the rest.

OTHER INFORMATION

Talk with our guides about all the possible options for seeing the sunset from the water. Meet in Ephraim at the Ephraim Kayak Center on Water St. located across the street from Wilson’s Restaurant.

Wetland Kayak Tour

Situated along the north shore of Clark Lake, Logan Creek is an undeveloped, isolated gem of Door County. The Wetland Kayak Tour is a peaceful paddle. You’ll kayak along Logan Creek, which is tucked away in the quiet side of the Peninsula. Its pristine waters are designated an Outstanding Water Resource. If you arrive early in the season, the banks of the creek are alight with the vivid yellows of the marsh marigolds and soft whites of the American starflower. The only noise you will hear along Logan Creek will be the wind through the forest, dominated by white cedars, white pine, black ash, yellow birch, balsam fir, and hemlock. Launch from our private location and within minutes the only sound you hear will be the occasional ovenbird, red-eyed vireo, black-throated green warbler, eastern wood-pewee, great crested flycatcher, rose-breasted grosbeak, and hermit thrush. A year-round habitat for waterfowl of all kinds as well. The paddle continues onto Clark Lake to the north shore of Whitefish Dunes State Park.

Once on the Clark Lake, the Wetland Kayak Tour becomes more free form, as you will be able to explore as much as you desire, including the option to get out of the kayaks for a hike around the Dunes, or along the Ridges Sanctuary property. A truly unique tour.

WHAT TO BRING ON THE WETLAND KAYAK TOUR
A hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, water, natural insect repellent, and a smile. The creek is spring fed and remains cool all year round, so a long sleeve shirt would be recommended for the first portion of the tour. Jeans are not advised.

OTHER INFORMATION
The natural area has additional seldom used hiking trails that are worth exploring if you have the time and energy. They are accessible directly from 5890 WI-57, Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235 (same location as Mr. G’s Supper Club)

Cave Point Kayak Tour

Join us for a beautiful two-hour kayak tour along Door County’s pristine Lake Michigan coastline. The tour will take you along Cave Point County Park and Whitefish Dunes State Park. With the unique vantage point of your kayak, you’ll be able to experience the beauty of the caves and observe the beautiful karst landscape on crystal clear Lake Michigan. We’ll venture into a couple of the accessible caves at Cave Point, and spend a few minutes relaxing while enjoying the natural beauty and soaking up the sun, before kayaking back to the launch point at Schauer Park.

WHAT TO EXPECT ON THE CAVE POINT KAYAK TOUR

The water is generally calmest in the morning, so it is best to book earlier in the day. The kayak seating area does tend to get a little wet so dress accordingly. Flip flops and water shoes are highly recommended, but you can also jump in bare foot! We also highly recommend shorts or leggings that you don’t mind getting wet (jeans are not recommended). The temperature does run cooler on Lake Michigan, so layers are good. On calm days there is ample opportunity to view the submerged caves all along the coast. The conditions are always subject to change, but as long as you arrive with a smile the trip will only brighten your day.

WHAT TO BRING

You will want to dress appropriately for your Cave Point kayak tour, water shoes or flip flops are recommended. Swim trunks or wicking/tech clothing is recommended over jeans and cotton. Bring water, sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and some positive energy. We welcome GoPros, cameras, and cell phones with a proper case and lanyard – a great way to capture your experience.

Eagle Harbor Kayak Tours

Whether you are starting your morning paddling under the shadow of Eagle Bluff’s 150-foot dolomite cliff face (Door County’s highest bluff), or ending your day just in time to see one of the county’s most spectacular sunsets on Ephraim’s shores, the Door County Eagle Harbor kayak tour has it all.

The Eagle Harbor kayak tour departs from the Ephraim Kayak Center, and takes guests along the sea caves and under forested terraces and bluffs of Peninsula State Park, all while enjoying a great view of Horseshoe Island and the Ephraim shoreline. Located between Fish Creek and Ephraim, Peninsula State Park is one of the most visited parks in Wisconsin, and the Eagle Harbor tour guides guests along her shores. Take in breathtaking views of the park from Nicolet Bay and Tennison Bay, as well as catching a glimpse of the 150-year-old Eagle Bluff Lighthouse.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The water is generally calmest in the morning, so it is best to book a tour earlier in the day. The seating area does tend to get a little wet so dress accordingly. Jeans are not recommended – wicking/tech clothing is best. On the Eagle Harbor kayak tour there is ample opportunity to view towering bluffs, Horseshoe Island, Eagle Tower, Eagle Lighthouse and Nicolet Bay. The conditions are constantly changing and it is a good idea to check the weather before heading out the door so you can dress appropriately.

You will want to bring water, sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and some positive energy. We welcome GoPros, cameras and cell phones, with a proper case and lanyard – it’s an accessible way to capture your experience. Pets are permitted on very calm days – be sure to notify us beforehand if you are bringing your pet.
